Building a culture of understanding and knowledge for the artistic and cultural diversity of Hindustani Music.

The Hindustani Music Collective is based in Melbourne, Australia. Our aim is to build a community of practice and network of knowledge between musicians and lovers of Hindustani music in Melbourne and India. With the guidance and support of our community of creative collaborators in India we hope to deepen our collective knowledge of the Hindustani music tradition and its past and present musical practices through online and in-person seminars and events.

We also wish to acknowledge the history of Hindustani Music in Australia dating back to 1880 and to remember the many people who contributed to this legacy over the past decades.
